Hi all and welcoming about 40 new subscribers to this list from the Anarchist bookfair and elsewhere
We've had a very busy period lately mostly through supporting the Hackney Alliance to Defend Public Services, helping to organise the rally in September and Lobby of the Council in October and producing the Bulletin. HSN supporters are working to keep the Hackney Alliance open and democratic and pushing it out into the local community with local meetings and groups in all wards in Hackney.
Please support the Hackney Alliance; the meetings are fortnightly on Tuesdays at the MOTH Club on Valette Street, so next meetings 16th and 30th November. The next issue of the No Cuts Bulletin will be at the meeting this Tuesday so come and get some for your road/estate or email hackneyalliance@hotmail.co.uk to have some delivered.
see http://hackneyalliance.wordpress.com/ for more details
HSN continue to meet monthly also at the MOTH on the 4th Tuesday, so our next meeting is on Nov 23rd and all are welcome. On the agenda will be how we can do more for the HAT, other campaigns we can support, ideas for us to take action around and also producing the next Hackney Heckler
see http://www.hackneysolidarity.info for updates and hackney solidarity network on facebook
HSN also do a regular news video night with Reel News and this is every second Sunday. It was at the MOTH for a year but it has now moved to a bigger and better venue, The Victoria pub on Queensbridge Road at Dalston ( Just off Dalston Lane). At the last one, on Urban Food growing in Detroit and US community organising we had John Sinclair the Detroit legend along and was great night!

HSN are also now part of a collective, Hackney Benefits Collective (http://www.myspace.com/hackneybenefitscollective), putting on benefits for local campaigns also at the Victoria! We started off with a big one for the Anarchist Bookfair ( it was coincidently on the same day) and the next one is on November 27th and for the Welfare Action Hackney and Hackney Housing Group ( both part of London Coalition Against Poverty) and on December the 18th we have a social/benefits for the Hackney Alliance with Steve White and the Protest Family, lots more acts to be confirmed PLUS one very special secret to-be-announced band!! see myspace and facebook for more details
So we have lots going on. If you're not involved, now is the time! If not now, when? If you are doing stuff please come and tell us all about it and see what we can do to support you and vice versa!
And if you are on facebook join up! We send more info out via that than here nowadays
Solidarity, HSN
