Estates Plus is Hackney Council's plan to sell off the (Their Quote) "Underused land" on estates to
Housing Association for redevelopment. What is underused land? Inevitably, It is going to be the green spaces, playgrounds and car parks.

The Council's aim is to initially target the Frampton Park Estate in Homerton. The Estate Plus Team are to restart their "Consultation", on the estate on the 1st of July 08.

Rally to support call centre workers defending their union

Pat Carmody is a union rep at the Old St office of call centre firm Pell & Bales. P&B workers make fundraising calls on behalf of major charities like Oxfam and UNICEF - but the company doesn't always treat staff ethically. Pat has been suspended for putting his name to a factual four sentence article in the Socialist Worker - see the article below.

Support Tube Cleaners' strikes

(* There will be some direct action in central London from 9am to 10am. Meet at Westminster tube station, Bridge Street exit at 8.30am.*)

Around 700 RMT Tube cleaners working for four private contractors are to
stage a series of strikes after voting by a landslide 125-to-one margin for
action to win the London living wage and decent working conditions.

Starting at 18.00pm on Thursday 26th June RMT Underground cleaners will be
striking for 24 hours.

A second, 48-hour, strike is also scheduled for all shifts commencing
