10 APRIL MARCH & RALLY IN DEFENCE OF THE WELFARE STATE AND PUBLIC SERVICES (see poster attached with details)

This very important demonstration has been called by the National Pensioners' Convention - there are now 24 trade unions and another 5 campaigns on board organising the event.
The aim is to lay down a marker to the politicians (of whatever political description) before the General Election that we will not stand for more cuts and privatisation of our public services, including the National Health Service.

Sunday March 28, 2010
Start: 12:29 pm

Next Hackney Heckler is due out early May so deadline for articles, contact information etc is Tuesday April 13th. Hackney Heckler is Hackney's only independent newspaper with all the articles written by those who are doing the campaigning they are writing about, instead of employed journalists, and distributed, again, by those ordinary local people through street, door to door and cafe outlets. We employ no journalists, take no commerical advertising and receive no funding from outside Hackney. We will have a print run of 5K or 6K for this issue.
