* Hackney Hostel Residents are sick of waiting! *

Join residents to demand housing at 10 am on Tuesday the 30th June at Hackney Town Hall on Mare St, Hackney Central.

Residents of Hackney’s hostels and temporary accommodation demand that:

- decisions on their applications be made within the 33 working days the council promises.

- Residents be housed in safe, suitable and decent housing at all times.

- Disrepair in the hostels be fixed immediately.

Temporary accommodation residents and supporters are asked to come and join Hackney hostel residents to demand Hackney Council fulfill their promise of granting a meeting to the campaign. The council’s management have not delivered the meeting they promised over a month ago. The campaign is asking that Kim Wright – executive for Community Services – meet with representatives of the campaign to address the problems they face. Despite earning £120,000 in 2007 Kim Wright has yet to reply to the two joint statements that have been handed to her by the campaign – come help show her we are not going to go away until our demands are met! Everyone has a right to a good home!
