As discussed at our AGM, once the general election is over, we will need to take stock and consider what the resulting government means for trade unionists generally, and for Hackney in particular. It seems that whoever wins we are facing severe cuts in public spending. We are therefore calling a meeting on Wednesday 19 May in the basement of the CAFE MOSTRA, 86 Stoke Newington High Street, Stoke Newington, London, N16 7PA. Please note this is a new venue for us.
Speakers will be Anton Johnson (Lambeth TUC) and Greater London Association TUC LGBT Officer on 'Hackney Pride' and, Kevin Courtney, Deputy General Secretary of the NUT who will be talking about the current economic crisis after the election.
